October 12-13, 18-19 Amy Stoner Open Studio Tour! Portland, OR
Amy Stoner (aka Colorworks) will have an open studio and live encaustic demonstration October 12-13, 18-19 as part of Portland Open Studios in Portland, Oregon. It is an arts tour of local professional artists at work in their studio. Their website is here: http://www.portlandopenstudios.com/

She will be there all four days with live demos from 10am-5pm
October 17-19 Brooklyn, NY
Shannon (Newbyart) and Kathryn (Kbean) join forces yet again to teach at Etsy Labs in Brooklyn!!! They will be teaching beginning to intermediate techniques and although students are required to bring most of their own materials, they will be handing out a copy of the Beginners Encaustic Tutorial (available in newbyart’s shop). They hope to promote this team and its member’s encaustic art at the workshops as well! :)

Melissa Hronkin January 2009 at the Vertin Gallery: Wintering: Into the Hive
This body of work will include 2-D works on cradle board which will be an exploration of encaustic and beeswax collage. There will also be illuminated 3-D pieces (Melissae)..guardians of the hive. The Sylvia Plath poem “wintering” is also an inspiration for the body of work.
